SPOILER ALERT: They say you always end up marrying your best friend.
Well, 5 wonderful years of friendship and most of nursing school later, Maeghan and Ian decided to give dating a try. They realized quickly it was the best decision they had ever made. Shortly after, Ian got down on one knee in front of the Forsyth Park Fountain in Savannah, GA. Maeghan said “YES” to Ian and later to a beautiful wedding gown at Poffie Girls. Maeghan made a gorgeous bride in her strapless, all lace, fit and flare Kitty Chen dress.
With her groom and groomsmen looking sharp in black suits and gray vests, Maeghan walked down the aisle on May 12th, 2017 to the man of her dreams. Their “I Do’s” took place at the historic southern estate called Ritchie Hill in Concord, North Carolina. After their first dance to “Heartbeat” by Carrie Underwood, the breathtaking reception continued into a night to remember. The couple then honeymooned on a 10 day cruise to St. Thomas, Antiqua, Maritinique, St. Kitts, and San Juan.
Maeghan said her favorite part of the wedding day was getting to see Ian’s face when she walked down the aisle. Her advice to Brides-to-be is “to not forget the meaning behind the day, and don’t get too caught up in all the small details. At the end of the day, all that matters is that you are marrying the love of your life.” For Grooms-to-be she suggests not to do a first look, but to save it for when she walks down the aisle.
This husband and wife now enjoy full-time nursing careers and date nights in with Japanese carryout and Grey’s Anatomy.
A BIG congratulations to Maeghan and Ian!!!
