Emily and Barrie: A Field Trip to Remember
Emily and Barrie have been together for 4 ½ years. They met when she was a senior in high school. While participating in a Teacher Cadet program at a local elementary school, she was asked to go on a field trip to the local fire department. Before the class left for the field trip, the teacher was joking with Emily about finding a prom date while at the fire department. Once at the fire department, Emily met Barrie and the teacher asked Barrie if he would take Emily to prom. Emily and Barrie soon realized they had mutual friends. After several months of staying in touch, the couple began dating. Emily and Barry were married on May 7, 2016.
The wedding was held at the Long Family Farm. This was Emily’s great grandparent’s farm.
Emily wore a lace fit and flare gown designed by Mori Lee.
Cruise to Honduras, Mexico, Costa Maya, and Belize
My favorite memory from the wedding was when our preacher started the service. He told Barrie and I to take a moment and look around at all the family, friends and loved ones that all came to celebrate us. Take in all the smiling faces, decorations, all the work and love put into such a special day.
What advice could you offer to brides currently planning their wedding:
Don’t sweat the small stuff. Little things that don’t get done before the wedding, or things that you might think don’t look like they did in your head or on pinterest, will not matter the day of the wedding. Trust me, no one will notice! All eyes are on the bride and groom, and that is what makes a beautiful day!
What has been the best source of support and encouragement for you all:
For us, it has been our faith in God. Also, our parents played a big role in supporting and encouraging us.
Future hopes or dreams for your family:
Travel and enjoy life… We both love being outside and enjoy nature.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given about marriage:
Always pray together, the closer you both are to God the closer you will be to one another.
