Bride’s Name: Alicia Sarratt Rollins
Date of Wedding: October 24, 2015
Wedding Venue: Ceremony: Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Reception: The City Pavilion, Shelby NC
How they met: We went to middle school and high school together, we were always really good friends, but reconnected a few years after graduation and fell in love.
Wedding colors: Blush and Merlot
Favorite wedding memory: Our wedding vows. We decided to write our own vows and I would not change anything about it! They were so heartfelt and personal and there was not a dry eye in the whole church. It was the sweetest thing. I also had so much fun at our reception, we were able to relax, dance, have fun, and just enjoy our time with our family and friends.
Why you chose to shop at Poffie Girls: I bought my debutante dress at Poffie Girls, and everyone was fabulous then. I thought I had my made up on a Maggie Sottero dress, completely plain with no embellishment. Bailey could tell right off that a plain dress just did not match my personality. She found me a Justin Alexander dress that was full of bling and pearls and I completely fell in love! The whole experience was perfect!

As we approach the winter season we’re thrilled to share some of our favorite ideas for gorgeous winter weddings!
Winter is the special time of year when you can snuggle up with a loved one, enjoy the gorgeous scenery around you, and sip on hot cocoa by the fireplace. It’s no wonder that Brides pick this season to host the most important day of their lives!
If you’re a Bride who loves deep color tones, elegant details and metallic design then you’ll love the suggestions we have for you!
When planning a Winter Wedding, it’s important to put as much thought into detail as possible so you get the winter look you’re going for, without boarder-lining on a complete Christmas themed wedding.
Color Pallet: Red and Green are the traditional colors of Christmas, but just because you incorporate it into your wedding, doesn’t mean you have to break out your Christmas decor to fill up your wedding venue! Instead of the standard red and green Christmas hues, consider pairing colors like pine green, sage, cranberry, and gold. It’s a sure-fire way to get the winter charm you’re going for without being overly cheesy.
Flowers: There’s nothing more beautiful than deep toned flowers surrounded by berries and lush greenery. Talk to your florist and create a floral look that’s both wintery and romantic.
Accessories: For winter weddings, it’s important to play up your accessories to complete the bridal look you’re going for. We highly suggest you incorporate a fur wrap with your bridal gown! It’s not only pretty but also functional as well since it will keep you warm in the cold wintery weather!
There are many ways to have a beautiful winter wedding and we encourage all of our brides to get creative and find new and exciting ways to style your wedding with chic and sophisticated taste.
