The process is simple: you use extra fabric from your dress’s alterations and make a gorgeous mask that matches your gown. This way, you’ll be covid safe, but still glamorous. You can do this with any dress—wedding dresses, prom, Mother of the Bride, you name it! All you have to do is be sure to ask your seamstress to hold out any excess fabric from your alterations. And if you’re concerned you won’t have enough fabric left over from hemming since you’re tall, no worries. Most seamstresses often have extra fabric in a color that will match your dress beautifully if there’s not enough left over after alterations!
The easiest way to use this fabric is to simply sew it over an already existing disposable mask, and you’ve successfully turned your blue disposable mask into a chic formal accessory.
