Abby met the man of her dreams, George, in Charlottesville, Virginia where she had just settled into her first nursing job after graduating school. A short while later, George had been accepted at the University of Kentucky in Lexington to pursue a degree in Mining Engineering. Without a waiver of a doubt, Abby moved to Kentucky to be with George, and took a chance on a six-month, whirlwind relationship. Needless to say, the chance was worth it as just over two years later George proposed on top of the Anglin Falls Hiking Trail in Berea, Kentucky. The two tied the knot surrounded by friends and family at First United Methodist Church in Gastonia, NC on March 10th, 2018. Our beautiful bride walked down the aisle in a stunning Stella York satin ballgown with a fully beaded top, paired with a long, lacy, cathedral veil. Their reception was held at The Gaston Country Club where the couple shared their first dance to “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran.
George and Abby kicked off their new marriage with a relaxing week at the Isle of Palms in South Carolina and are heading to the Dominican Republic in May for another romantic getaway.
Abby said her favorite part of the wedding day was making their vows to one another and tells other brides to remember that “you are marrying the love of your life and at the end of the day that is all that matters!”
The newlyweds now enjoy afternoon hikes with their dog, making dinner together, and relaxing movie nights in their own home.
Congratulations Abby and George! We are so happy for you!!
