Meet Rachel and John Humphries: high school sweethearts that got married on October 15, eleven years after meeting! “We feel so incredibly fortunate to have found each other so early in life”, says the bride. From intimately getting engaged in their kitchen, to having a small ceremony in front of close friends and family, these two kept it simple and elegant. The Humphries got married at the beautiful Historic 10 Catawba in Belmont, NC. With friends and family by their side, they danced their first dance to “Stay” by Sarah Bareilles.
The bride wore a beautiful Justin Alexander gown with delicate Queen Anne lace. The light gold undertone of the gown really complimented the rustic feel of the venue. Adding a drop necklace and belt to complete the look.
After a perfect wedding day, Rachel and John honeymooned in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic at the Breathless Resort. This all-inclusive resort “was relaxing, fun, the entertainment was insane and the food was fantastic!”- we’re so jealous!
After a whirl wind of a wedding and honeymoon, the Humphries can be found relaxing and watching a good movie or exploring new yummy restaurants for date night.
When asked about any advice for future brides-to-be, Rachel said, “keep it simple and go with the flow.” We couldn’t agree more! The groom had some advice too, “Don’t sweat the small stuff, and help make decisions.” We love when our grooms want to play an active role in the wedding planning process!
Thank you so much to Rachel and John for letting us share your special day!
