![Real Wedding Wednesday: Friendzone to Forever ❤ Eight years ago Amiee met her best friend and future husband while working together at a bar in downtown Charlotte. After being friend-zoned, yes friend-zoned for two years, her now husband took the most courageous step a man could take. He stepped out of the friend zone and leaned in for a kiss. To both of their surprise, a little spark flew that night. After contemplating whether or not a date would ruin their friendship, and unable to ignore that little spark, the pair headed out for their first date and as Amiee says “the rest is history. He did the impossible, he came out of the friend-zone. [She] got to not only marry the love of [her] life, but also [her] best friend.” After a magical proposal in Charlotte, NC, the couple decided on a destination wedding in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. They tied the knot on February 24th, 2018 in Ocho Rios with breathtaking views, and beautiful weather. Amiee walked down the aisle in a Justin Alexander, silk dupion and tiered tulle, strapless, sweetheart dress or as Amiee calls it her “perfect princess dress”. They shared their first dance to “I knew I loved you” by Savage Garden, and enjoyed the rest of their night and honeymoon in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
Her biggest piece of advice to brides to be is to “be selfish! Make your wedding about you and your groom, not the guests. They are there to enjoy your day.” To the grooms to be, she says, “don’t be afraid to have an opinion, it is actually your day too.” Congratulations you two!
