Haley and Nick are the type of people who will do anything to help. She is an emergency room nurse and he is a fireman and paramedic. The pair met when they were teenagers on a mission trip to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Coincidentally, they went to the same elementary school, lived only two miles apart, and still never crossed paths. After the mission trip, Haley and Nick ended up working together as lifeguards at the community pool. They quickly became friends. On April 2nd, 2010, the two finally began dating. Haley and Nick dated throughout college, until she finished nursing school.
Nick finally popped the question in November of 2015. Haley’s brother had convinced her that he needed to take photos of a historic bridge for a school project. Little did she know, he and Nick had other plans. We love Haley’s reaction in photo below!
As for the big day, the couple said their I do’s on September 3rd, 2016. They were married at The Lakes in Kannapolis, North Carolina, which is actually Haley’s aunt’s venue. The couple shared their first dance together as husband and wife to Josh Turner’s ‘Angels Fall Sometimes’. Haley wore a stunning strapless, fit and flare gown by Essense of Australia. The gown featured a chapel train, with lace appliques that effortlessly dripped down the dress. Haley paired her lace fingertip length veil for her flawless look. What a picture perfect bride! After the wedding, the couple honeymooned in St. Lucia and Antiqua.
Looking back, Haley has said some of the best part’s of her wedding day was the gorgeous weather they were blessed with, as well as celebrating with family and friends. She says that as long as you are marrying the man of your dreams, everything else will fall into place! Nick’s advice to future grooms? To realize how lucky you are!
Now settled into married life, the couple enjoys going on ice cream dates. Nick and Haley, thank you so much for letting us be a part of your story!
